Our Story

Our journey began in 1994, when our founder and landscape designer, Leith Carstarphen, started working in the field of landscape design, construction, and maintenance in the San Francisco Bay Area. With a degree in Landscape Architecture and Horticulture, Leith has been passionate about creating beautiful, sustainable, and functional outdoor spaces. He has led workshops and classes on sustainability issues and has a deep commitment to edible and useful plants.
