Transforming Your Outdoor Space with Nature and Expertise
Olive's Nursery was founded in 1942 by Walter Eric Olive, my grandfather. It's been 81 years since we first started, and we've accumulated a wealth of experience. Our goal is to share this expertise with you through our website. Some people might consider us experts because we've been doing the same thing for over forty years. If you have any questions regarding your lawn and garden, pest problems, plant issues, water gardening, or even Christmas tree questions, feel free to give us a call or better yet, come visit our excellent staff.
Our History
Did you know that we're not just a plant nursery? A part of our shop is a gift store/boutique, which was started by my mother, Mary Olive, back in the 1950s. Today, Debbie Olive has continued to expand the boutique, offering a variety of beautifully designed Christmas wreaths, handmade soaps, home decor, and fashionable clothes and jewelry. She has a little bit of everything inside.
Why Choose Us
When you're sick, you want an experienced doctor. When your landscape is ailing, you should want the same thing. We've helped thousands of West Texans successfully with their landscapes. Whether it's tired, yellow lawns or sick shrubs and trees, we have solutions. We believe in working with nature. We know which plants and trees do well here, which are challenging, and which are impossible to grow. There are a lot of continuous flowering plants that do great in West Texas, and we have them right here in our garden center.
Tommy's Amazing Discovery
Over thirty years ago, I discovered organic gardening. This was after selling organic cures and native plants in the 1970s, which were unsuccessful at first. I learned that success was found in the soil and healthy soil grows good, healthy plants. So, I developed a bio-stimulant called Olive's OIL. It really is a miracle worker for our hard west Texas soil!
Community Bible Study
Thank you for visiting our website. Don't forget to follow us on social media! If you're interested in learning more about Community Bible Study, I, Tommy, would be happy to discuss it with you. We start our study in August and follow the school year. This year, we will spend thirty weeks on the book of Matthew. We have small groups for women, men, couples, and a Zoom group. We meet at the Heights Church at 6:30 on Mondays for about 1 1/2 hours. We take a Christmas break and start up again in early January and end of April. It's designed for beginners to experts, and for unbelievers who want to see for themselves if there's any truth in the Bible.
