At Creative Exteriors, we offer a wide range of services designed to transform your outdoor space into a haven. From initial consultation and site visit to final installation, our process is tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of each project.

Design Process

Our design process is comprehensive and involves every aspect of the garden, including hardscape elements, plant material, hydrozone planning, and lighting design. The process typically unfolds in the following stages:

• Initial Consultation and Site Visit: This meeting is a working session where we tour your existing landscape, discuss your requirements and objectives, and provide specific ideas on how your new landscape can be laid out.
• Site Analysis and Measurement: After the proposal has been accepted, we conduct a second visit to measure the property, gather specific site information, and review design goals.
• Preliminary Concept Plan(s): We create plan view drawings that convey alternative ideas for the style and overall layout of the garden, including sketches or photographs to help you visualize the design.
• Design Documents: Our design documents are prepared in the CAD program Vectorworks and typically include the following:

+ Landscape Plan: A detailed, scaled, working drawing that your contractor uses to install the design.

+ Planting Plan: Indicates botanical and common names of all plants, location, and quantities, and features a private, online photo album of your plant palette.

+ Online Plant Palette: A private, interactive file with descriptions and photos of all the plants in your design.

+ Hydrozone Plan: Plants are grouped into water-usage zones for efficient installation (note: this is NOT the same as an irrigation plan).

+ (Optional) Lighting Plan: Shows location and fixture type for low-voltage lighting plans.

• Contractor Selection and Installation Services: At the end of the process, you'll have everything required to work with a contractor on installing your design. We stay involved with most projects to provide assistance with design details, plant placement, and site observation in consultation with the contractor.
