Montague Tree Farms

Montague Tree Farms is a family-owned and operated business that has been a part of the Montague community for over 70 years. Our journey began in the late 1940s when Walter Hunt purchased 360 acres of land to start growing Christmas trees. In 1978, his daughter Cindy and her husband, Dave Francis, took over the farm, expanding its services to include landscape design, installation, and maintenance.

Over the years, Montague Tree Farms has become a one-stop-shop for all your outdoor needs. Our Christmas tree farm offers a wide range of species, from Fraser Fir to Black Hills Spruce, with both retail and wholesale options available. We also provide landscape design and installation services, lawn care, and invasive species control.

At Montague Tree Farms, we take sustainability seriously. We have been operating on solar energy since 2016, and as of Fall 2020, we are MAEAP (Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program) verified in Cropping and Farmstead systems.

Landscaping

At Montague Tree Farms, we offer a wide range of landscaping services, from design to installation and maintenance. Our services include spring cleanups, mulching, pruning, regular weeding and watering, and much more.

Lawn Care

Our residential and commercial lawn care services aim to help you achieve your ideal lawn. We provide establishment, fertilizing, weed control, spring cleanups, and mowing maintenance, tailored to your specific needs.

Christmas

Choose from our vast selection of pre-cut trees or cut your own Christmas tree from our 14-acre field. We offer a variety of species, including Fraser Fir, Black Hills Spruce, and Korean Fir. Our drilling, shaking, and baling services are available at no extra charge. We also sell decorated and plain wreaths, garland, and other holiday decor.

Nursery

Our nursery features a wide range of shade trees, ornamental trees, evergreens, native trees and shrubs, and perennials for sale. We also offer double-shredded undyed mulch and delivery and planting services for our balled and burlapped evergreens.
