Our journey began with a passion for landscape design and a desire to make a difference. With over 65 years of combined experience in the industry, our team has honed its expertise in creating unique and functional outdoor spaces that not only impress but also enhance the environment.

Our Story

Our story began in 1951 when our founder's mother left Hawaii to attend school at Macalester College in Minnesota. Soon, she fell in love with my dad and the state, but her love for the Aloha State never faded. As a result, our founder spent countless hours at his grandparents' home in Honolulu, where they would often "landscape" something - whether it was the yard or an orchid house. Fast-forward to 1998, when our founder received a Master of Science degree in Industrial Psychology from San Jose State University and spent 15 years working at Lockheed Martin. The advice from his dad to start a landscaping business was the catalyst for the official launch of Aloha Landscaping. After years of learning and making connections, 2005 marked a pivotal year for the company. We spent two weeks in Switzerland studying green roofs, which led to the construction of the first major green roof in Minnesota.

Today, Aloha Landscaping is a leader in the design and construction of sustainable green roof systems, certified installers of Tile Tech's storm-proof roof paver system, and experts at product approval in Florida. We've installed over 62,000 square feet of roof pavers across the US and in Guam. Our services extend to landscape design and construction, including paver patios, water features, retaining walls, nature play, and grass cutting. With a focus on sustainability, we've developed a truly organic green roof soil with a carbon footprint 1,300% lower than conventional soil. We've become one of the premier landscape construction companies in Minnesota and have the awards to prove it - our founder won the national "Landscaper of the Year" award in 2009 and built the first green roof on the island of Guam.
