At John's Landscape Service, Inc., we pride ourselves on being a reliable and trustworthy company that has been serving the Greater Boston, Metro North, and Metro West areas for over 28 years. Our story began in 1986, when our founder and president, John Tighe, founded the company at the age of 12. With a passion for lawn care and a strong work ethic, John started small, marketing his services through flyers and delivering them personally to homes in his neighborhood.
Our Early Successes
John's first 20 clients were all within walking distance of his childhood home in Arlington, MA. He quickly gained a reputation for being reliable and providing excellent customer service. His hard work and dedication paid off, and he soon had a loyal customer base. In recognition of his hard work and dedication, one of his earliest clients, a local realtor, gave John a gift - a box of business cards that read "John's Landscape Service." This marked the beginning of the company's journey.
Growth and Expansion
As John grew older, he continued to expand his services, purchasing his first truck, a Dodge D-50, for $500. He later used this truck to service his growing customer base. By the time he was 16, John had purchased a commercial mower with a loan from his parents. He repaid this loan in just six months with interest.
Education and Innovation
After high school, John attended Northeastern University, where he pursued a degree in Business Management. He utilized Northeastern's co-op program, using John's Landscape Service as his work experience. This allowed him to build and market the company's services, purchasing additional equipment, hiring new staff, and marketing in other communities.
