Enriching lives through gardening education and community outreach.

The Master Gardener Society of Oakland County, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of those who love gardening. As a volunteer-driven organization, our mission is to provide hands-on gardening and research-based horticultural education to our community. With our certified Master Gardeners, we strive to connect people with the natural world, promote sustainable gardening practices, and foster a love for the beauty and wonder of gardening.

Our Services

As a Master Gardener Society, we offer a wide range of services to our community. We provide regular general meetings, where we invite expert speakers to share their knowledge on various gardening topics. Our meetings are free for members and $5 for visitors. We also host an annual educational conference, "Gardening and All That Jazz, " which features renowned speakers and expert panel discussions.

In addition to our regular meetings and conference, we offer a variety of educational classes and workshops throughout the year. These classes focus on topics such as organic gardening, pollinator conservation, and sustainable landscaping. Our Master Gardener volunteers also participate in community outreach programs, where we provide gardening advice and education to local residents.

Upcoming Events

We are excited to announce our 2024 MGSOC general meeting schedule, which includes topics such as new annuals and perennials for 2024, creating an unforgettable entrance to your home, composting, and natural gardening. Our meetings will be held at the Rochester Community House on Wednesday evenings, starting at 6:30 PM. Please check our website for dates and speakers.
