Empowering gardeners, enriching communities

The Michigan Master Gardener Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people and communities grow. We focus on providing education, resources, and support to Master Gardeners throughout the state. Our mission is to empower individuals to make smart gardening choices, promote the beauty and health of Michigan's gardens, and enhance the quality of life in local communities.

Our Services

We offer a range of services designed to benefit Master Gardeners and the communities they serve. These include liability insurance for volunteers, educational webinars, and support for affiliate chapters seeking 501(c)3 status. We also provide opportunities for volunteering at the state level, enabling Master Gardeners to make a broader impact. Additionally, we maintain a Speakers Bureau, which allows our members to share their expertise with others.

Supporting Nature and Community

Our organization is committed to supporting nature and community through various initiatives. We promote the conservation of Michigan native plants, particularly focusing on the protection of monarch butterflies. We also encourage visits to public and private gardens, nature centers, conservatories, bogs, and other natural areas across the state. By doing so, we aim to foster a deeper appreciation for the natural world and the importance of preserving it for future generations.

Partnerships and Collaborations

We are grateful for our partnerships with organizations like Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, which have granted us the use of photos on our website. These collaborations enable us to expand our reach and amplify our impact. We also work closely with other affiliate Master Gardener associations, further solidifying our network and collective efforts.
