Our story began in 1938 when James Vander Giessen Jr. opened the first greenhouse in his backyard, serving the community with his love for plants. Over the years, our family-owned and operated business has grown to become the trusted destination for gardeners in Whatcom County. Today, we are in our third and fourth generation of family ownership, dedicated to maintaining the same level of excellence and commitment to our customers.
