We are Bio Friendly Gardens, a landscape architecture and garden design firm serving the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 1995, we have combined art, architecture, stone, wood, and water to create balanced, beautiful outdoor environments. Our founder, P. Louis Dixon, holds degrees in Plant and Soil Science, landscape design, and natural resource management, and a certificate in Landscape Architecture from UC Berkeley. Our office manager and accountant, Haruna Kubota, brings international business and mathematics expertise, strengthening our project management. We are a registered member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the California Landscape Contractors Association, and several ecological associations. Our team includes trained horticulturists, foresters, and entomologists, ensuring every project is rooted in ecological science.
We prioritize green building practices, water conservation, and the use of California native plants on all projects. We offer a full range of services from concept to completion, including landscape design, construction, stonework, water features, and outdoor kitchens. Our estimating and budgeting process provides reliable, transparent cost estimates before any design work begins. We solve complex site challenges with creative, sustainable solutions that meet client goals and regulatory requirements. Client satisfaction is our highest priority, and we maintain open communication throughout the project to ensure results exceed expectations.
